I don’t have time to update the full story, but I wanted to let y’all know. God had told me He had a birthday present for me yesterday and it would be better then I could imagine.
Chris was supposed to leave for deployment yesterday, but they got delayed so he asked to see the kids. I said yes, we are going to church will he come with me and he said yes and he came! And the service was all about restoration and I saw him praying and I was on my knees crying and praying. The pastor literally said maybe you have a marriage that needs restoration, or a relationship with your children, or you need to be redeemed from a sin nature. Chris stood there, head bowed, praying! It was amazing.
He came back to the house to spend time with the kids and it’s the first time we’ve hung out in a while. After the kids went to bed, we sat and talked and we were honest and vulnerable with each other. I was able to tell him there is no shame and guilt and I forgive him and Christ has forgiven him. He said that although he is engaged, he doesn’t want me to ask God to release me from my covenant because he hopes that there is restoration for us. He took it very seriously that God would do what He said He will do and release me if I ask him to. He is starting to see truth. He wanted me physically too, but I said no. I am respecting him and his relationship and respecting me too. It was the hope I needed. All real solid hope. We ended up talking for 7 hours! Thank you and praise you Lord! This was the hope I needed to stand strong and God is so clearly at work! Father, please take Chris into your hands. Trade his heart of stone for a heart of flesh. Fill him with Your Spirit Lord, so tha he knows the truth and rejects the lies. Save him from the sin and darkness. I know you are working! We are in a new season and springs are beginning to well up and I can see it! A leaf has grown from the seed and has just broken the surface of the ground. God, I will continue to stay out of your way. Please Father, your will be done in our family, in our hearts. Amen
