I get on and check for posts often, but I haven’t posted anything in a long time. I think for the same reasons as everyone else - life is just very busy. I think I told you about my new grandson born right after Hurricane Harvey hit. My son, who lost his first son in 2016, is now a father and is a great one. God truly does turn everything around for good and blesses His people. Brock is almost 6 months old now and is such a blessing in my life. My son and Ashley got married in January.
David got married to the OW in October. He called me and our kids a few days before and told us he was getting married. His reason, which he told all of us, was since they were living together anyway he might as well get the tax deduction. I think they married because God continues to convict them both about their relationship and they think getting married will stop that - of course they don’t recognize it as conviction - they just feel guilt and have no peace. But God has continued to give me confirmations that restoration will happen during His timing.
David came to town after the marriage and brought his new wife. He invited my youngest daughter to lunch to meet her. My daughter told him that she had no desire to meet his new wife. Since my other two children already made it clear to him that they didn’t want to meet her, he hasn’t seen them except to drop off Christmas presents. He left his wife ‘shopping’ while he did so.
I don’t know how long it will take for God to get through to him, but I will continue to stand.
I’ve hired my replacement at work while I continue to try to retire. My boss is experiencing some serious health issues, so I’m not sure exactly what is going to happen with my job and my retirement. My mother is also experiencing signs of dementia and/or Alzheimer’s, so I’ve been trying to spend extra time with her. It’s all very exhausting for me. Some days I just want to run away. Lol
