These are my notes from my prayer time today. I don't know what God is doing, but my headspace is so clear today. He is doing something, today!
I sit here either angry at him or worried or thinking of him. Lusting him. Whatever. I am letting him take up headspace that God wants to occupy. Instead, focus on right now! On today! On this moment! Stop letting him and the devil have victories over you, by letting him into your head. Focus on now. Focus on God. When you have nothing to do and could die of boredom, go spend time with the Lord. Then watch a cartoon. Then take a bath. Then cook some good food. Then go for a drive. Then spend more time with God. Go buy a new outfit. You can be busy enjoying your life.
The good life begins, not when circumstances change, but when our attitude toward them does.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. — Philippians 4:6-7
Don't be anxious for the promise. No don't be anxious for your husbands return. But be thankful as you pray and let your requests be known to God. And the peace that he covered Hannah with with also cover you. It will guard you and cover you.
Thank you Lord. Thank you for starting something new here. I don't know what you are doing, but I see that it is new and I am grateful. Help me to behave with love, godly love, not lust, towards this man. Help me to be kind to him, patient, not envious or rude or boastful or proud or self seeking. He has nothing to give me and nothing I want from him, so help me not to seek a thing from him. Help me see every moment he spends with us as an opportunity to witness and share your love. Help me to also not be angry. I don't need to defend myself. You are my defender. Help me not to hold any wrongs against him, but allow him a fresh start every time we see him. Help me not to want evil and lust him, but instead give me your real hope. Give me truthful hope, that I can rejoice in. Love protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. Help me to continue to pray for him, to protect by praying against the enemy. Lord Allow me to continue to see the man he will be and trust that you have this man in your hand. Give me renewed hope for that future by showing me clear signs. Help me to continue, even when things get hard. Love never fails. Lord, perseverance always always always overcomes resistance. Your love will not fail. Your plans can not fail. Lord, bring your 1 lost sheep home to the fold. And thank you, praise you Lord for your peace!
As we navigate life, it’s easy to interpret problems and unmet desires through one of two extremes. One extreme is the Chicken Little who runs around saying, “The sky is falling, the sky is falling.” That’s called panic.
The other extreme is Pollyanna, who says, “Oh, nothing bad is happening. It’s all good.” That’s called ignorance.
The world stinks sometimes. There’s cancer and there’s death in this world. There’s sadness in this world. There are orphans in this world. There’s hunger in this world. And sometimes you’re going to pray for things, and the prayer isn’t going to be answered the way you want.
But somewhere between Chicken Little and Pollyanna are the sober, honest disciples of Christ who don’t freak out at the presence of problems. Who don’t lose faith when hard times come. Who don’t make their contentment contingent on anything other than the presence of Christ. When you stay on that path, you’ll find the journey goes so much smoother.
I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. — Philippians 4:11-13 NIV
These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing.
Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? — Luke 12:25-26 RSV
Be strong and brave, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, because the Lord God, my God, is with you. —1 Chronicles 28:20 NCV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. — Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. — Philippians 4:6
For the second time today, you've given me this verse and it's only 9:22am! Don't be anxious Sharon. With thanksgiving, present your requests. God has got this girl! Just simmer down and let him do what he does best! Create something new!
Simply put, prayer is a way of life. When you pray, you are entrusting your needs to your trustworthy God rather than depending on yourself to make things happen. In essence, unceasing prayer is key to getting close to your heavenly Father. With this He brings supernatural peace, lavishing love on you, His beloved child (Psalm 66:19–20). So, talk to Him today. He always loves to hear from you.
Lord, something is about to happen and I feel it today. Thank You Jesus! The enemy is about to go down! I feel anticipation for something big. I don't know what your plan is, but do it Lord! Please don't let it hurt me and the kids. Please Lord, do your good work. Amen
God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and sound mind.
Lord, lend me your strength to be patient. To not step out one more foot into your way. To be still and let you be God. When I was younger, I trusted you with everything. I did not have much to worry about truthfully. I still don't have much to worry about now though. What can worrying do for this? Will worrying bring Chris home or change his heart? No! Will loving you and reflecting your love change his heart? Maybe. But even if not, my hope is you alone. I trust you and Your will be done. Help me to sit and be Still and know that you are God.
