When I think about it, I am full of fear and doubt and insecurity, but I have so many reasons to praise, to thank God at every moment!
I have struggled so much to connect with God over the past several months - it's as if after the height of passion of praying for my marriage to be restored, my sails deflated and I got a bit lost. But through it all, God has been faithfully here with me. Today I intentionally sat down to read my Bible and journal for the first time in a long while, and I felt like I was taking the first step towards getting back on track.
A few days ago I got back from a two week trip to Central America with my husband. We went again to visit family, and to do some research for my dissertation. It was a trip we never could have afforded, if not for the grant from my university. Three years ago, my husband went to his country alone to cheat on me. Now, we went together, for my third trip there, to see a family that embraces me as their own.
When we got back to our new house, we discovered that our AC is broken. It'll be a few days before a tech can come see it, and we're wondering if we'll have to fix it, or pay to replace the 19-year-old unit. We're pretty much broke, and the weather is in the 90s. But praise God because we have a HOUSE, a house together that my husband wanted us to buy - TOGETHER... And whatever solution we find, we'll do so together, and that's a blessing too.
There are challenges every day... there's fear and hardships and laziness. But through it all, God is good, and He is constant. I can only say thank you.
I continue to pray for you all to see the way God is moving in your own lives and your marriages, and to trust in Him always. I really miss you all - I miss our more frequent communication, but I praise God because I know that even in the quiet He is still working.
