He annoying thing recently has been that I am pursuing God as normal, but I don't feel his presence the way I did in my storm. It's too peaceful. God gave me this picture of a boat tied to a pier. In the storm, my boat is beating back and forth and all over and I desperately hold onto the rope that tethers me to that peer. In the calm, I need to make sure my rope is still strong. I might be just hovering in the right place anyways and that rope seems almost unnecessary, but the moment a storm starts up again, I will be grateful for the preparations made before. I will be glad that I stayed close to the pier and that my rope is strong and tested.

I love that metaphor and symbolism, Sharon. You are right on, and I'm glad that you are so clearly identifying what you need to do. That shows clarity, wisdom, and a desire to be right with God! Keep at it, sister, as I said in my comment on another thread, I really do think it's all about the small daily steps we can take to maintain and improve our relationship with God. I really appreciate this reminder though as it's something I need to work on more.
