Psalms 46:10 has popped up for me over and over again this week. Just wanted to share this.
BE STILL – KNOW THAT I AM GOD
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.” Exodus 14:13-16
Are you afraid of your future? Does marriage restoration appear to be hopeless? You see no signs of repentance, forgiveness, healing or restoration from your spouse. So what are you to do? Are you thinking of giving up? Is there another person in your spouse's life? May I challenge you to, stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will do for you. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7
I know it is hard to, be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. May I remind you of Moses, the Israelites and the Egyptians. They had a tremendous problem and looked at their circumstances, complaining and grumbling to the Lord all the time. The Israelites had forgotten all that the Lord had just done to set them free from Pharaoh. They lost their faith in their mighty God. Every day you have to choose what you are going to say and what you are going to do. You can walk and speak faith, or you can allow yourself to be overcome with fear, doubt and hopelessness. What are you doing?
As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD . They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Didn't we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” Exodus 14:10-12
Are you living your life in faith or fear? God will fight for His children as they live in faith and in obedience to His Word. Trust in the Lord. Believe in God’s love for you, your spouse and your family. Believe in God’s mighty power knowing that He can do far more than anyone can imagine.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power, that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20
Are you upset and angry because of what you are being put through due to your separation and/or divorce or all your other circumstances? Do not become angry. Talk to God, tell Him your feelings, your emotions, your hurts and your pains. The Lord is the only one who can remove, heal, change and restore you to your righteous state. Do not let the devil get a stronghold in your life by you having anger, bitterness, hatred, fits of rage and jealousy.
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:26-32
God is giving you wisdom and knowledge every day as you read the Bible. You have a choice. Ask the Lord to fill you up with the Fruit of the Holy Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control instead of being angry, jealous, or fearful as you worry about the future. Every day give your problems to the Lord then praise Him that He is greater than any circumstance. God can part the Red Sea and remove the enemy completely. Be still before the Lord, knowing His mighty power.
Be still, and know that I am God…The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah Psalm 46:10-11
Our God is so great and mighty! This week make time to read Exodus 14. You will be blessed and encouraged as you will see how the Lord can handle any problems. Believe, have faith and trust the Lord to part your Red Sea of circumstances!
