Prayer

Father, hear my prayer. You are the healer of nations, the prince of peace, the foundation of everything. You have granted us all another day to bask in and soak up your glorious creation. Whether we saw blue skies today or clouds of grey, you chose that pallet and blessed us with sights, smells, and sounds that were specific to us this day. Father, I ask that you give us all the strength, the courage, and the grace to open our eyes each day and and see you in all of it. The cloudless blue skies, the soft breeze on a warm day, the fresh smell of a new rain, the brisk chill of autumn, the sharp cold of snow. Let us focus on the love, laughter, and fellowship that comes with this holiday season. Let us pray for and remember those that we miss, show grace and love to those that we can, and forgive ourselves for those that we can't.

Lord I pray you reach your hand out and place a special blessing in the heart of all my brothers and sisters here. Some of us are missing our prodigals while they are in the far country. Others are blessed / burdened by following beside them through that strange land. Lord remind us there is no far country for you. That all of your children are always right beside you whether they realize it or not.

Doubly bless those with small children this season. Let us all shine brightly and remind them of the real meaning of this holiday. Let us all see the wonder anew as from the eyes of a child.

Father, I love you, I honor you, and I thank you for all that you have done for me, for all of us. Grant us the strength to stand as you have called us, knowing we aren't able to do it without you, nor worthy to deserve it. In your son's holy name. Amen
