As you may recall 2 weeks ago I was insanely sick and I was seeking prayer for myself and my husband because his friend Eddie died. Well, first I would like to thank you all for your prayers. I also would have to say that God definitely works in mysterious ways. I know God wastes nothing and redeems everything and nothing has proven that to be truer than Eddie's passing. His death hit my husband hard but silently. I could see it and feel it but he didn't speak to me about his hurt. But only a couple days after Eddie's passing Garrett told me he wanted to get up early and be more productive. He started doing it and reading devotionals first thing with his coffee. He also quit smoking for good. He started a few days before Eddie's passing but was struggling. It's now been 2 weeks no cigarettes. He's also been twice as productive at work. Racking up the amount of points that is normally achieved by 2 people in 1 day by himself. God has some how used Eddie's death to speak to and inspire my husband.I never met Eddie but I knew that he always wanted the best for Garrett. He encouraged him to do and be better. Since he died suddenly (he was 28) I could see my husband wanted to live up to what him and Eddie promised they'd be back in the program. To take his faith seriously, be sober, kind, work hard, and be joyful. I told my husband last night that I can tell God and Eddie have been with him, helping him to be better. He did what he could not to cry. It's so sad that Eddie passed. I really looked forward to meeting him and becoming his friend. But I thank the Lord for redeeming the situation and bringing good out of it.

Praise God for this, Marissa! It really brings home the point that we may not understand but God has good plans and will work all out for good. I will continue praying for your husband and encourage you to do the same (although I know of course you will!) - just remember that the enemy always tries to attack when we are doing well.

Yes thank you all. It's amazing but it's definitely still a learning experience. I came home to a completely clean house with all our laundry done and but away. But then we got in a fight which sucked because we've been doing so good. But we did kiss and make up later. I can tell I need to press in more because I reacted in a way I shouldn't have. So that's what I have to do this week, try harder. We'll see how it goes.

I'm praying boldness in faith, zeal, & focus for you & protection for Garrett as he steps out toward Christ & that he not go too hard too fast that he gets burnt out, & that he easily transition from doing what's right in remembrance of his friend, to doing what's right because of what Christ did for him..
