My faith is definatly under attack. So many differant things have been almost causing me to question my faith! It's the craziest thing! Zooming out, I can clearly see this is the enemy! It would make sence because I'm not only interceding for my wayward husband & his OW plus his family, but also for my sisters who are on drugs, my dad, brother & step mom who's believed a cult her whole life & she actually got saved recently at my church! Not to mention my friends, you virtual friends, & all broken marriages & martyrs all over the world! I think I need more spiritual back up in prayer if I'm going to be interceding for all of these people daily! I seem to keep struggling with questions like; why would you let that woman get raped & beaten? Why did that child die a slow painful death?
& then- how are people who don't believe in you able to produce good fruits? Love, patience, kindness, & self control? So many people who dont believe shine bright.. But how can they apart from Him? For some reason I found myself looking at videos from 9/11.. People jumping out of the towers.. How was He glorified here? I wonder.. Did each person who died have a chance to give their lives to Him? To be saved? Was 2,000 people all in the same building damned & would never accept Christ, so they were allowed to be taken? Since 9/11 statistics say more people are now atheist.. How was He glorified here?? Sorry... I'm definatly waging war over here..I know He's true & real, & loving, & just & all-knowing & trust worthy but the enemy keeps bringing things like this up to steal my faith. Please cover me in prayer Thank you all!

I'm praying extra for you tonight Mary.
These verses came to mind reading your post: "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7) "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord." (Isaiah 55:8)
There is so much that we are never meant to understand, and the enemy is still in a position of power in this world. Sometimes I am tempted to question/doubt but when I step back I know that God's plan is so much bigger than my understanding.
Remember this verse too: "give no opportunity to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27)
Remember to take your thoughts captive to Christ, in what you're watching and thinking about.
I'll be lifting you and yours up in prayer!

My pastor said something in this morning's service. "When the world looks like it is falling apart, remember, to God, it is falling into place." God told us that things of this world would get worse, in preparation for the second coming of Jesus.
There is a scene in the first "God's Not Dead" movie, where a lady says something along the lines of, sometimes the devil tricks you into walking into a cage, but it doesn't feel like a cage, because the door is open and you get everything you want, and you can leave at any time... Until you can't, and the door slams shut. Sometimes you can have a beautiful apple that has a worm inside. The fruit may look better than it is.
I will be praying with you sister.

Oh wow Eric. I started typing and then read your comment. I was going to mention that scene in Gods Not Dead also! Mary, you definitely need to watch this movie when you have the chance. Sister, look at your own story. You have had to suffer pain and difficulties in life. Is what you suffer in vain? Of course not! Look at how much the Lord has drawn you to him thanks to the pain you have suffered! If you had been given all you wanted, why would you need God? Sometimes God allows us to suffer pain. Sometimes extreme pain. Sometimes completely unbearable pain. It is for HIS good. Jesus had to die so that God's PERFECT plan could unfold. And it made no sense to those people who watched. His disciples had been warned again and again that he was going to die, and yet when it happened they were afraid. They believed they had failed. They believed He was dead. But God had the whole picture in view and when we see the whole picture at the end, WOW! It makes sense! These trials are all leading to Gods perfect plan. This is also God's perfect plan - that we trust Him. If He gave us the whole picture, there would be no point to having faith. He gave us free will so that we could CHOOSE to love Him and trust and have faith in Him.

Like the others said, God's ways are not our ways, and God's thoughts are not our thoughts. Looking at the scenes from 9/11 - maybe the people who jumped out of those towers were Christians who jumped into the loving arms of their Father? Maybe the people who died in those towers were Christians that don't have to suffer in this life anymore? Maybe they were so righteous that God said, "Come home my good and faithful servant!" I have a friend whose grandchild was killed a few years ago. He was crying and asking why would God take this precious little boy that my friend loved so much. My thoughts, (which I didn't say to my friend) were, God loved him so much more than you did. That little boy knew nothing but love his whole life. He will never get his heart broken by love. He will never be tempted by drugs and alcohol. He will never be bullied in school. He will never run afoul of the law. He will never experience the pain and heartaches of this life. He lived a life of people loving him with all their hearts, then he stepped right into the arms of Jesus. How awesome is that!
