I have been on a Toby Mac kick as of late, and on the way home from service tonight, I was blaring his latest CD, and I just got overwhelmed with God's love. There is no other way to describe it. I love my prodigal wife. I made a vow to her, and to God, to love, honor and cherish her for the rest of my life. And I mean that, there isn't a thing she can do, or say that is ever going to change that fact. There isn't a single ounce of that that depends on her to do, say, or return any of that to me. This is something that I have chosen, a decision that I have come to, and it hit me tonight on my drive back, that this isn't even a drop, in the ocean of the love that God has for each and every one of us.
We all have this moment where we grasp that, or at least I don't think I am special in that I have figured out this great truth all alone. I am no one special, I have no great wisdom, or some special burden. I am abundantly ordinary... except that I am loved by God. I have been granted freedom, and grace, and mercy from the Great I am, himself. I have been blessed with the power to move mountains, to cast out demons, to dry up seas, and heal the sick and afflicted in his name. I have been given great power, and authority. So you see, I am someone special, I have been given great wisdom, and I carry a special burden... to tell the world that YOU are special too!
I will end this with a quote that my Pastor gave tonight, and I forgot who he said was the original author, but he said, "You will have all eternity to applaud and enjoy your victories, but only one lifetime to earn them."
