Surprise phone call

Hi all! Like a lot of you, I've been quiet on here lately. To give you an update, husband came over last week before he left town (for his brother's 4th marriage...there's a whole other story there). He brought dinner and we worked on court papers. After 4 hours we got it all done (at least the drafts due to the attorney ). I spent the weekend painting entire main level....its a lot of work, but it's such great therapy for me after tax season, and now with the divorce pending.

My 50th birthday was Saturday, and I had asked my family to keep it low key, I'm just not in the mood for holly jolly....its not my age, its my marriage. They did, which i appreciate. We went to dinner Saturday night and all came back here for cake and champagne. It was truly fun! Someone answered my house phone and handed it to me....it was Dana, calling to wish me happy birthday! He had texted me first thing in the morning, he's not capable of much more than that now, and i get that. So i was just shocked to be talking to him. He said he missed being here. I told him he was missed by the family and myself.

Overall, i still sense his conflict with filing, not a false hope, but something else...can't quite explain.

Meanwhile i'm trudging forward. ...packed some household items for him, since i had to move them to paint anyway.
