After I left work, I stopped by my in-laws to ask my mother-in-law to give some things to my niece and stepdaughter Sunday for them to give to my wife and sister-in-law for mothers day. I was surprised to find both the girls still there, usually their mama's have gotten them by now. So, I got to spend a bit of time with them, and play. I also had some time to talk to my father-in-law who told me that my mother-in-law isn't well. That she has an intestinal cancer that is fairly rare, and very serious. She is supposed to be going for a second opinion in the next few weeks to Duke. He asked me not to bring it up to my mother-in-law and ask about it, that she doesn't want to talk about it, but he broke down in tears telling me about it...
My wife has been holding on to this, and never told me any of it. They have been taking off work to go to Doctors, and spend time with her, and she never said a thing to me. The old me would have been mad she didn't tell me, but right now I am just sad. Sad that she is choosing to carry this burden by herself, and sad that this is happening. My heart is breaking for them.
My mother and father-in-law accepted me into the family immediately, and I love them both more than words can describe. They both have taken up for me, and supported me in my stand, even if they didn't know what else to do. They told me they understand if I chose to leave, but supported my stand. Granny (it's what the girls always call her, and kind of what I have stuck with too, I guess) is the very image of how I see a Christian. She is humble, caring, steadfast, and loving. I want to ask you all, to please help lift Frances up in your prayers. For healing, for strength, and for guidance for her, the family, and the doctors and medical staff.

Will pray for healing. I'm sorry your wife didn't at least let you know....you're right, that is sad. Granny is part of your life too. I'm praying for you. Stay strong.

I'm reminded of the story of the woman who out of faith, touched the hem of Jesus's robe and was healed. Lord we pray healing over France's now. We know that you are strong and powerful enough to do a miracle and heal her Lord and we have faith in this. I pray peace and comfort over the family Lord. Be with them please and help them see your good in this.

Eric, I am praying for Frances. My grandmother is actually also a Frances and she is also a very strong Christian woman! I will be praying for her healing and for peace in your entire family. I agree that it is sad that your wife felt she could not share this but I am glad you know now and can silently support her in prayer.
