I didn't have any contact with my wife This week after talking to her last Saturday, she asked me if she should rent an apartment she was showing me in pictures, I told her that if that's what she felt was right to do, to go ahead and do it. She got mad and said that she was only asking for advice from me, then I told her that she knew what my advice was, which is look for an apartment for both and try to work things out with God in our lives this time. She said she doesn't think our relationship will work again after all the damaged done. After that she hasn't texted me or call me for a week. I've been getting a lot of doubts in my stand this week, the enemy is attacking me with putting other women from church in my head, that I should be with a woman like that. Plus her being so cold with me doesn't help at all. God bless you guys and thanks for this forum I keep you all in my prayers.

Praying for you. I think we've all been there at one time or another. I know I have been. But the best you can do is rebuke those thoughts, refocus on God, and keep going.

Brother,
I feel for you, I have gone extended periods w/out hearing from my wife. That is when the enemy will absolutely attack your mind with doubt and thoughts.
What I do before making any decisions is ask myself is this Coming from God? When my wife texted me and said not to contact her unless it's regarding the kids, the enemy attacked me, my thoughts, emotions really really hard. I don't make any decision regarding my stand unless I seriously seek Gods guidance first. I fast, read his words, devotionals and so on, if God doesn't speak to me or I don't feel his guidance I don't act on it. It is cliche but get alone with God and surrender it. Personally for me, what God has laid on me, it does not matter what my wife decides I will continue to "stand" not to be confused with "waiting" ( as they are not the same ) until God tells me to move.
Definition of "stand" = a place where, or an object on which, someone or something stands, sits, or rests, in particular.
*we are standing for marriage restoration, not based on ourselves but from what God has commanded us to do thru prayers & seeking him.
Definition of "wait" = stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens.
*waiting (imo) is just wasting time, I take it as the worldly approach to "standing" as relating to our storms.

Thank you William for that clarification sometimes I feel like I'm doing more waiting than standing... waiting on my husband to communicate with me because every time I try, he gets angry. It can be so hard, feeling like you're just stuck :/

That was great William! Thanks for posting that! I feel like I stand, but I seem to always slip into waiting.. It's a matter of wanting our spouse to love us more than were willing to focus on how much Jesus already loves us..

I am praying for strength for you Leandro.
Here's a verse I found for you: "For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord." (Psalm 112:6-7) --- An amazing reminder that we can always stand firm in God!!!

Awesome points William. ...perfect distinction.
Leandro, doubt is choosing to put more faith in the problem than in God to use that problem. ...doubt is a favorite weapon of the enemy.
"The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. But I've come that you may have a life and have it abundantly" (John 10:10)
"But the lord is faithful. He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one" (2 Thes 3:3)
"Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee" (James 4:7)

TK, you are so wise and have always have the best words when it comes to doubt. You are completely right that the enemy uses doubt. It's his favorite lie.
James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
It is so critical, while we are standing, even while we are waiting if we slip into that, to recognize that a trial is the enemy attacking, because God has something amazing coming. To consider it as proof that God is working, because the enemy is fighting against God's plan. Darkness is defined as "the partial or total absence of light". When you are standing in the darkness, you can't see the light at all, but look at that definition. Darkness can only be defined if you understand light. So you have to recognize that just because you can't see light, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Whenever you are in the dark, you have to remember that there is only darkness, because there is light. That God, our light, has our best interest in mind always, and that He will remove the darkness. We have to stay focused on him and remember that He is doing good work here, even if we have to stand in the dark for a while to see it.
