Good evening to all my prayer warriors out there!
We all know that Tuesday nights 9:30pm EST we have agreed to stand together in prayer, or whenever we can if that time doesn't work for us...
Tonight I really want to take it back to the very basics.
I just got out of church and God really rocked my heart deeply tonight. I was reminded that truly, deep down, our marriages "don't matter." Whaaat?? You might say... But yes... What truly matters is that God is glorified and our spouses' souls are saved. Of course we all hope that occurs alongside our marriages being restored and healed, also for God's glory!! But let's just remember like Jesus said in His prayer before going to the cross: "God, your will be done, and not my own"...
Tonight I want to encourage you to pray like this:
First, in GRATITUDE. "Thank you, oh my amazing God, for your love! Thank you for your sacrifice! Thank you for tearing that veil so that I can have access to my Father God and spilling the blood so that I can be cleansed! Thank you for always hearing me, for always listening to my prayers! Thank you for never leaving my side, for never abandoning me, even when I am deep in sin and don't turn to you for help! Thank you for giving me second, third, and fourth chances! Thank you for forgiving me and loving me despite it all! Thank you for the GIFT of my husband, and thank you for the GIFT of strength and faith to stand!
And second, for our spouses' SALVATION... not for them to come back. Not for them to love us or love us more or love us the way we want/need to be loved. Not for them to make the choices we want for them to make. GOD KNOWS WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN OUR SPOUSES LIVES FOR THEM TO BE SAVED. Trust me, He doesn't need our suggestions!
So let's pray for them to be SAVED: "Thank you, dear Lord for your mercy! Thank you for your amazing sacrifice, for the cleansing blood and the pure life-giving, thirst-quenching water that you freely grant us! Tonight and always I honor your sacrifice my Lord and glorify your name and your amazing act! I beg you please to reach our spouses' hearts in your perfect timing, to speak to their hearts and minds in your mysterious ways, to call them to you my God so that they can once again (or for the first time) truly know your mercy and your grace. Call to them to purify their hearts before you, convict them please Lord so that they are drawn to turn their eyes to you and to your truth! Have mercy on them please Jehovah, don't let them be lost... I beg you to please seek them out as the one sheep of the hundred that wanders lost, as the one coin that has vanished, as the prodigal son that has gone out into the world! Please keep calling them until they can't help but hear, and save them please my God. Your will be done in my husband's life as it is done in heaven, your will be done in all our spouses' lives as you see it fit. We trust in you Lord, and we lift our spouses up to you. And we lift ourselves up to you alongside, my Lord, we are here, and we want you to use us in any way you see right, my GOd. Use us to lead others to you, lead us to glorify your name always! We are in your hands, and our spouses are too. In you we trust, in Jesus' name, amen."
God bless, dear friends.
