Praise report/prayer request

Today has been a crazy rollercoaster of emotions. I help out in the sound booth / projector controls at church and this morning we had our Kids Place children do their Easter Program. So, I left more than an hour early for service, but not before putting an Easter basket on the front porch for both my stepdaughter and my niece. I was nervous about the children's performance, how the Easter baskets would be taken, and today is/was my birthday.

I haven't spoken to my wife since March 4th, and that has been a daily, hourly, and constant battle for me. She texted this morning. 2 short texts consisting of. "happy easter and happy birthday" followed up by a "thank you" When she found the basket.

Her family has a big family egg hunt after church on Easter. It means a lot to me. (It was actually the first time I met my stepdaughter, Easter morning.) So, I have seen the family posting pictures after church in their Easter dresses, painting and hunting eggs, eating, and enjoying each other. All feeling sorry for myself, missing my family. Today is supposed to be a Happy Day! He is RISEN!

I don't know if I am torturing myself or just wanting to join them in some way by looking on Facebook. Then I see something that catches my eye. On my wife's left hand. It isn't her wedding band, or her engagement ring, but she is wearing a ring on her left hand ring finger. Something I missed the first time I was going through the pictures. Even in the hard times, even in the lonely times. God is there giving us a small little glimpse of hope.

I don't know what tomorrow holds. I don't have to. I have faith that God has me here for a reason. Just because I can't see the map of where I am headed, doesn't mean I am not on my way. Let Jesus be your navigator.
