Today I had a long and confusing conversation with G. I feel a little bit drained/worn, confused, and also somewhat "accused" (I say accused rather than convicted because I think the feeling is coming from the enemy to discourage me rather than from God to encourage me). I thought about posting the "he said, I said" report here but when I thought about it I really did feel convicted and humbled...
I know this is a place where we can share what's going on and find encouragement, join in prayer together, etc.
But today of all days, I just don't want to be second-guessing my marriage. I just want to focus on JESUS. I am grateful for His sacrifice every single day, but Good Friday is a day that we as believers have set aside to specially honor and thank Him and celebrate His great sacrifice. And rather than wondering if I'm doing everything right by God in my marriage, I just want to look at Christ in awed gratitude.
"And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments." (Luke 23:34)
"When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." (John 19:30)
"It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, while the sun's light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last." (Luke 23:44-46)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." (John 3:16-17)
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." (1 Peter 2:24)
"But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
